Skavenslayer, the second book has a tome of ancient lore - Leiber's The Loathsome Ratmen And All Their Vile Kin. It's a fairly sizeable reference, so Bill King presumably also knew where this was coming from.

Urban thief and brawny barbarian? Certainly! But what's this?! The barbarian is the short one?! (Mind you, I can't think that Felix Jaeger has ever really been described as a thief. Apart from the occasional looting of the bodies, but everyone does that.)Solomon VKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11763252777153908412noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3133932512864546561.post-47402528138215392662020-02-20T21:00:43.871+00:002020-02-20T21:00:43.871+00:00Just to follow up on the cross-blog conversation f...Just to follow up on the cross-blog conversation from. Some very astute observations here. I have a long, winding, unfinished, unpublished and perhaps publishable piece of writing on the Skaven, and I concur that the Council of 13 is influenced by the rats of Lankhmar. It might interest you to know that Jes Goodwin (the original designer and sculptor of the Skaven) had fan art of Fafhrd and The Mouser published in the Trollcrusher zine, so there is no doubt he was aware of Liebers work.

Not that I've read any of the Warhammer Gotrek and Felix novels, but doesn't the pairing of urban thief and brawny barbarian remind you of a certain dynamic duo?zhu bajieehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08004498036257289234noreply@blogger.com
